While it is not a problem i am often (never in my life) challenged with, surely there are those who must have an awful time at Christmas and birthdays shopping for their dirty filthy rich relative who has
nearly
everything. When the gold apple watch crowd shops, It falls upon them to swipe their AMEX Black cards on not only something tasteful, personal, meaningful...and of uncompromisable quality but seriously and ludicrously expensive.
1/4 Scale Ferrari FF - $26,850.00 at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
for Reference, car and Driver lists the Focus ST’s MSRP at $25,195 and new GTI at 26,205*
to be fair, if space is a premium in your smoking lounge/library/underground garage they do offer 1/8 scale instead of 1/4 at a significant discount.
this F458 EVO is a mere $6,775.00 Hugely detailed....NPOCP??
Of course a NEW STRATOS 1/8 Scale is a bit rarer forbidden fruit overall so... price goes up t0 $9400, and if anything in the world could possibly be a better bargain for a non running stratos I would love to see it in the comments. yes it’s a little small and completely nonfunctional. but its a bargain. a NEW STRATOS would be a $600,000 if they could even produce them. $600,000 divide by eight (1/8 scale) is $75,000...so inch per inch the models are quite a deal if lightweight is your thing.
of course, not everyone wants third person or scaled down action so for your full scale pretend F1 Fantasies why not treat Uncledad Gildenpockets to a 1:1 full-scale replica F1 wheel!? Only $3075 which seem like a lot compared to a whole car or even a replica gaming wheel like a Thrustmaster F1 (150$) , but it seems like your only middle ground option this side of going totally Glickenshit and using a real $50,000 one.
Or what if it is for your nephew Junior Achievement? No worries. Half size humans can have a handheld bargain. Only 150$
And if 10-20 large is a bit to big to bite off for a first timer, one might always start off easy at small scale nosecone... ‘just the tip’ (160$).
*Listed MSRP is for a
2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI 4dr HB Man S
base trim with no options. Includes destination fee. Does not include sales tax. But you knew that already you keen shoppers!

This is one space where 3D printing will annihilate these kinds of companies.

May some day. Costs are still high for any detailed 3D work. Then there is livery to paint etc. I actually expect that these are 3d printed at least the intial buck models. I looked into a motorcycle tank i’d designed in cad and 3D printing that in ABS was about $8000!

A model in this price range should have heartbeat and occupy the entire passenger seat.

I’d like to see the Ferrari in person.

Can’t say I’m impressed. These photos could easily be from 100-250 dollar items. For that money I expect a miniature running engine.
The problem with this market in my mind is while there are some exceptional genius created models, there are also over priced turds. To be honest for around 1-1200 dollars I’m pretty sure I could get a cooler model.
as a genuine ferrari and hobby guy I’m not interested at all. Maybe the photos are just too regular for 20k

This model ( http://www.rmauctions.com/ac15/the-andre… ) laughs in the face of your $27,000 model
